March 15, 2017 By Thrive We really enjoyed Dr. Rhonda Patrick’s report on cryotherapy and thought you might too! Dr. Patrick points out all the reasons you should use cryotherapy and continue treatments to maximize its effects. Many already are aware of the benefits cryotherapy has to offer when it comes to muscle soreness, however, Dr. Patrick goes into detail about case studies focused not only on muscle soreness, but also recovery, athletic performance, metabolism, mood, inflammation (specifically arthritis), and production of collagen. In addition, Dr. Patrick talks about how the frequency and time span of cryotherapy use is important. We have many clients ask us how frequently they should be using cryotherapy. Our response varies depending on what each client is using cryotherapy for but one thing that’s for sure, you will see more results the longer you use cryotherapy! Dr. Patrick’s report elaborates on what and how cryotherapy is beneficial over prolonged periods of time. Her report shows multiple different case studies that discovered people who did whole body cryotherapy for 2 minutes at 166°F (110°C) three times a week, for 12 weeks, had their plasma norepinephrine increased 2 to 3 fold (200 to 300%). Up to 200 or 300% increase! That is crazy! But it is important to understand that this incredible result did not happen over night. We always want to make it clear to our clients that Cryotherapy is not a “magic pill”. You may feel and see results after your first session but the benefits that are going to last take time, just like any other form of therapy. So whether you are doing cryotherapy for pain, weight loss, recovery, or mood boosts, it is important to continue the use of cryotherapy, even once you start to feel improvements!
